In Thursday night's soccer action the Red Wings of St. John's hammered the Laingsburg Wolfpack.  The Wolfpack were no match for St. John's superior ball handling and overall skill.  St. John's jumped all over Laingsburg in the first half 5-0 on 2 goals from Sam Hanover, 1 from Matthew Pingle, 1 from Kyle Everts, and 1 from Dane Bergstrom.  In the second half Everts added another and Christian McMillan added two more to cap the route.  The lone bright spot for the Wolfpack was Drew Jones' 11 saves.  Jones was under constant pressure all day as The Red Wings outchanced the Pack 26 to 2.

10/5: Laingsburg/Bath falls to Haslett 7-1

On Monday October 5th the Wolfpack of Laingsburg headed to Haslett to face the CAAC champions.  The Vikings scored just 3 minutes in when Hawken Hanna's free kick was tipped past Laingsburg keeper, Drew Jones, by Ben Rathbun.  5 minutes later Noah Sawyer scored on a Penalty Kick awarded to the Vikings.  With 20 minutes left in the first half Hawken Hanna made it 3-0 when he chipped a shot over the jumping Jones.  The Vikings added to their lead just 5 minutes later as Scotty Thrun headed one past Jones off a cross by Hanna.  In the waning moments of the first half Laingsburg almost got on the board when Mitch Matzenbach's redirection off a corner kick rang off the cross bar.
Laingsburg opened up the second with a little more drive.  Andy Kubsch hit a direct kick off the cross bar and the ball seemed to cross the line and spin back.  It was not ruled a goal and Laingsburg was unable to get the rebound.  Haslett made the Wolfpack pay by scoring on rebound from a penalty kick just 3 minutes later.  Pete Dibert, who played goal for the Wolfpack in the second half initially stopped the PK, but was unable to save the rebound that the crashing Ranga Mutatu hammered home.  With the Vikings up 5-0, Laingsburg finally got on the board when Andy Kubsch volleyed a pass from Mitch Matzenbach over the head of Viking keeper, Garrett Lemanski.  Despite a couple chances to cut into the Viking lead, the Wolfpack fell further behind when Haslett netted their 6th goal of the night when Mikey Manuel headed a corner kick from Kyle Levine past Dibert.  The 6th ranked Vikings were too much for the Wolfpack and they iced the game with 6 minutes left when Scotty Thrun got his second goal of the game by deflecting a ball off his shoulder off the corner kick by Mikey Manuel.

10/13: Laingsburg/Bath falls to Ithaca 3-1

On Tuesday night Laingsburg travelled to Ithaca to face the Yellowjackets in a rematch of the first game of the season.  In the first game Ithaca scored with 3 seconds left to beat the Pack 2-1.  In that game Jordan Most added the late goal off a give and go with Tyler Gross on the South end of the field.  This game started where that one left off.  Most used his teammate, Gross, again in a play that was eerily similar to the one that gave the Yellowjackets a win in their first meeting.  Most passed to Gross at the 18 and when 2 defenders played the ball Gross made them pay by leading a pass back to Most who was wide open at the six.  Pete Dibert made 7 saves for the Wolfpack and Chris Anderson made 8 saves for the Yellowjackets to keep the game at 1-0 deadlock until 10 minutes left to play.  Jordan Most returned the favor by passing the ball to Tyler Gross, who put a shot right on Pete Dibert's chest.  Dibert seemed to bobble the ball and then knocked it in to his own net.  The Wolfpack cut into the lead when Andy Kubsch scored on a free kick with 7 minutes left to play. But Ithaca iced it when moments later a low shot by Zach Whipple seemed to catch Dibert by surprise and find its way to the back post.  Laingsburg fell to 4-9-3.

10/14: Laingsburg/Bath falls to Dansville  4-0

On Wednesday night Laingsburg ended their regular season at Dansville.  It was the Aggies' senior night and the Wolfpack hoped play spoiler.  Unfortunately for Laingsburg it didn't end up that way. In a game marred by free kicks and yellow cards Dansville crushed the Wolfpack 4-0.  Dansville opened up the scoring 20 minutes into the game when Eric Soderberg cleaned up a mad scramble off a corner kick in the box.  Laingsburg goalie, Drew Jones, saved the first attempt, but after 3 failed clearing attempts by the Laingsburg defense Soderberg easily finshed a ball that came right to his foot.  Laingsburg controlled most of the play after the goal.  They outshot the Aggies 9-5 in the first half.  The second half belonged to the Aggies, however, and Laingsburg never made any serious threats to Dansville keeper, Aaron Hoefling.  Eric Soderberg got his second goal of the night when Warren Witchell drew his 4th free kick of the night. The only differnce this time was that it was in the box.  Soderberg's PK put the Aggies up 2-0. Jay Witchell iced the game when he scored off a corner kick.  Jones came charging at the curving ball which quickly sailed over his head and into the net.  Moments later Ethan Gurecki added a goal when he placed a ball over Jones and ended his night.  Dibert came into releive Jones with 20 minutes left to play.  Dansville had a couple of more opportunities to add to their lead, but Dibert kept the rest of their shots out.  Laingsburg never really threatened in the second half and finished with only 1 seond half shot compared to Dansville's 12.  Laingsburg ended the season at 4-10-3.
